Liver transplantation (LT) should be considered in any patient with end-stage liver disease. Priority on the waiting list for patients with end-stage liver disease is based on the model of end-stage liver disease (MELD) score (based on objective measures such as bilirubin, creatinine, and international normalized ratio).
