In this webinar which took place on 14 June 2022, Profs. Rautou and Hernández-Gea moderated debates around vascular liver diseases and portal hypertension. Dr Elkrief, Prof. Berzigotti and Dr Tellez discussed the current use of liver elastography in the diagnosis of portosinusoidal vascular liver disease, the combination with other non-invasive tests to identify patients with clinically significant portal hypertension and esophageal varices, and the fontan associated liver disease, respectively. Finally, Dr Murad covered the current and future indications for the use of spleen stiffness in vascular liver diseases, that followed by a panel discussion and a Q&A session.

Annalisa Berzigotti Annalisa Berzigotti is Head of Hepatology at the Department of Visceral Surgery and Medicine of the University Hospital of Bern, Switzerland. She is expert in the non-invasive and invasive assessment of liver disease and portal hypertension.
Laure Elkrief Laure Elkrief is hepatologist at Tours University Hospitals in Tours, France. She is expert in the diagnosis and management of portal hypertension in patients with cirrhosis and vascular liver diseases.
Virginia Hernandez-Gea Virginia Hernández-Gea (MD, PhD). Interventional hepatologist at hospital Clinic Barcelona, EASL scientific committee member and secretary of VALDIG. Her research group focuses on the mechanisms of regulation of portal pressure and understanding the role of the liver endothelium in liver disease.
Sarwa Darwish Murad Sarwa Darwish Murad is an academic hepatologist at the Erasmus MC University Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, with special interest in vascular liver diseases and liver transplantation. She obtained her MD degree in 2004 and PhD (ENVie study on Budd-Chiari Syndrome and portal vein thrombosis) in 2009, both at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. She completed her specialization in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, USA (2007-2011) and Erasmus MC (2011-2016). She is an active board member of VALDIG since 2019 and ERN Rare Liver member (vascular liver diseases) since 2021. She was the medical director of the EMC liver transplantation program from 2017-2019, and currently associate editor of Transplant International and board member of the Dutch Transplant Society.
Pierre-Emmanuel Rautou Pierre-Emmanuel Rautou (MD, PhD) is a clinical specialist in Hepatology with a PhD in vascular biology (2011). He is Professor of Hepatology at Université Paris-Cité and Hôpital Beaujon (Clichy, France) since 2016. He is the head of the splanchnic hemodynamic laboratory at Beaujon Hospital (Clichy, France) since 2012. He is also leading an Inserm team dedicated to the study of the role of vessels in liver diseases, at the INSERM Unit 1149 (Paris Research Center on Inflammation).
Luis Tellez Luis Tellez (MD, PhD) is working at the Hepatic Hemodynamics & Vascular Liver Diseases Unit, Universitary Hospital Ramón y Cajal in Madrid.
