About this course

This EASL-ESPEN course will provide you with up-to-date knowledge and best practice guidance on the assessment and management of nutrition in liver disease. Comprising five modules, the course is presented by some of Europe’s leading experts in nutrition and liver disease. It begins with an introduction to the concept of malnutrition and overnutrition in liver disease, before guiding you through key assessments, recommended tools, and the incorporation of exercise into a treatment programme. Each module is standalone, so you can pick and choose according to your interests and watch at your own pace.

Overview

1. Concepts of nutrition and nutritional risk (2 hours, 2 CME credits, release date: January 2021)

2. Nutrition and muscle mass assessment  (2 hours, 2 CME credits, release date: March 2021)

3. Assessment of muscle function (2 hours, 2 CME credits, release date: April 2021)

with Prof. Alastair Forbes, Prof. Johann Ockenga, Prof. Manuela Merli & Prof. François Durand 

4. Assessment of dietary intake and management of nutritional problems (2 hours, 2 CME credits, release date: May 2021)

5. Exercise in liver disease (2 hours, 2 CME credits, release date: August 2021)

  1. In each module, you will need to complete all the Pre Knowledge Checks to determine your current level of understanding. This is not counted as part of your grade for this course.
  2. After completing a Pre Knowledge Check you can view the main content related.
  3. After completing the main content you will unlock the Post Knowledge Check. You must pass this to complete the module.
  4. Once you pass all the Post Knowledge Checks you will need to provide some module feedback in order to unlock your Module Certificate and your CME Credits Certificate.
  5. Continue with the next module.

The course is available through desktop and mobile devices on all internet browsers (e.g. Safari, Microsoft Edge, Chrome and Firefox). You can also take this course using the Moodle app, please follow the below instructions if you are running the app for the first time. If you have already access the EASL Campus via the Moodle app, just go to step 5:
